Junior River Ranger

You may have heard of the National Park Service's Junior Ranger program for National Parks. We have a similar program on the rivers, called the Junior River Ranger program.  Our program is designed for children ages 8 - 12, but of course all ages are welcome and encouraged!

Our Junior River Ranger booklets are available at the Visitor Centers at the following locations: Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge, Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge - Sudbury, and Minuteman National Historic Park - North Bridge.  In the booklets, you'll find tons of fun activities and opportunities to learn about the rivers, their history, and how we interact with them.

You can turn your completed booklet in to any Refuge or Park staff member at the previously mentioned locations to get your official Junior River Ranger badge and certificate!

We also have the booklet available as a PDF that you can download and print out at home! Please note that it is an 11 MB file, and so may take a while to download on slower connections.
